The new 20 euro banknote will be put into circulation by the European Central Bank (ECB) on 25th November 2015. This 20 € banknote is already the third banknote from the new “Europe” series, which was launched in May 2013. In addition to the changed design, all new euro banknotes feature improved security elements as protection against counterfeiting.

A software update must be installed on all devices
to ensure that the banknote counters and money counting machines recognise the banknotes and can distinguish them from counterfeit banknotes at the time of the new 20 euro banknote’s introduction.
